Licence, updates & FAQ

The licence card

• Regular install: Booknetic → Marketing, at the bottom of the page. Only users who can manage the site see it.
• Booknetic SaaS: SaaS admin, Marketing → Licence. Tenants never see licence settings.

Paste your key and click Activate. Once a key is stored the card shows Re-check now, Release this site and Check for updates, along with the domain, the masked key, the sites in use (for example 1 / 1) and when the licence was last checked.

Status on the card	What it means
Active	Licensed; updates arrive on the Plugins screen
Update period ended	Everything keeps working; only new versions have stopped
Not activated	No key yet
Not valid	The key isn’t recognised, or has been revoked
Seat limit reached	The key is already on as many sites as it covers
Not activated for this domain	A real key, but this site doesn’t hold one of its seats. Activating claims one

A seat is the site’s domain. Release this site gives the seat back so the key can be used elsewhere. Deactivating the plugin does not release it, so release first when you move a site.

Without a licence

Switched off:

• the campaign screens for all three channels;
• the tenant credit shop.

Still running:

• campaigns already sending finish;
• purchased credits keep counting;
• payment confirmations are still processed;
• your campaigns, templates, logs and credits stay where they are. Nothing is deleted.

A licence server that can’t be reached never switches anything off. Only a real answer from the server changes the status. The licence is re-checked once a day.

Updates

With an active licence, new versions appear on Plugins → Updates like any other plugin. The plugin row also has a Check for updates link if you don’t want to wait. Updates need the licence to have been confirmed within the last 14 days. If the server couldn’t be reached for longer than that, everything keeps running, but updates pause until a re-check succeeds.

FAQ

Activating fails with a message about the Booknetic version. Marketing needs Booknetic 5.10.1 or later, below 5.11. Update Booknetic first.

The WhatsApp form says the Messaging Service SID isn’t set. Set it in Setting up the channels.

A campaign shows “queued” and isn’t moving. Sending continues through Booknetic’s cron once a minute, or straight away with Run now. For WhatsApp, a batch also waits if the template can’t be confirmed as approved — see WhatsApp templates.

Some recipients say “unknown”. The provider didn’t give a clear answer, so Marketing didn’t retry and risk a duplicate. Check the provider’s delivery history before sending to them again. See Sending, logs & suppression.

Where did my old Email/SMS/WhatsApp Campaigns or Credit Topup data go? Nowhere: it is still in your database. Marketing is a fresh install and doesn’t import it. See Getting started.

Is anything removed when I uninstall? No. Uninstalling keeps all Marketing data.
