Booknetic / Marketing Addon

Getting started

Install the Marketing add-on for Booknetic, activate its licence, and see what runs on a regular install and what needs Booknetic SaaS.

The Marketing add-on sends email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns to your Booknetic customers, with audiences built from your own booking history. On Booknetic SaaS it also lets your tenants buy credit packs for the messages they send.

It is one plugin with three parts:

PartRegular BookneticBooknetic SaaS
Campaigns — email, SMS, WhatsAppYesYes, per tenant
Credit top-ups—Yes

On a regular install the credit module is not loaded at all.

Requirements

  • Booknetic 5.10.1 or later, below 5.11. Activation checks this and refuses older versions, including Booknetic 1.3.x.
  • WordPress 5.6+ and PHP 7.4+.
  • A MySQL or MariaDB database with InnoDB tables. Campaign and credit locking relies on transactions and named locks.
  • The Booknetic workflow add-on for each channel you want to use:
    • Email — Booknetic’s Email workflow add-on, with Booknetic’s email sending set up.
    • SMS — the Twilio SMS workflow add-on, with your Twilio credentials.
    • WhatsApp — the Twilio WhatsApp workflow add-on, an approved WhatsApp Content Template and a default Messaging Service SID. See Setting up the channels.

Install

  1. Upload the plugin zip under Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, install and activate it.
  2. Activate your licence:
    • Regular install: open Booknetic → Marketing. The licence card is at the bottom of the page.
    • Booknetic SaaS: open the SaaS admin, Marketing → Licence.
  3. Paste your key and click Activate.

Until a licence is active the campaign screens and the credit shop are switched off. Nothing is deleted while that is the case. See Licence, updates & FAQ.

Coming from the standalone add-ons

The Marketing add-on replaces four standalone plugins: Email Campaigns, SMS Campaigns, WhatsApp Campaigns and Credit Topup.

  • Activating Marketing switches those plugins off. If one is switched on again later, Marketing switches it off again and shows a notice. Running both would duplicate the menus and, on SaaS, the drivers that charge credits.
  • It is a fresh install, not a migration. The old plugins’ campaigns, logs, plans and purchased credits stay in your database, but they are not imported. Take a backup before you switch.

Where things are

  • Booknetic → Marketing. One card per channel the user may use: Email, SMS and WhatsApp campaigns. On a regular install the site admin also finds the WhatsApp setting and the licence here.
  • SaaS admin → Marketing (Booknetic SaaS only). Credit packs per channel, top-up settings and the licence.
  • Tenant → Billing (Booknetic SaaS only). The tenant’s TOP-UP CREDIT button.

Try it live

The Marketing demo is a Booknetic SaaS with a demo salon. You can open its campaigns as the business, or the credit packs as the platform owner. Email sends run in the demo, but no message leaves the server.
